Publisher's Description:

Input Director - Input Director is designed for those folks that have two (or more) Windows systems set up at home. Using Input Director, you can position the monitors of your systems side-by-side and then control all of them via one keyboard/mouse. To transition which system you're controlling is as simple as moving the cursor off the screen on one system and it'll pop up on the next screen (similar to a multi-monitor setup) or via a hotkey combo.

Input Director also lets you share clipboard contents, so you can copy from one machine, switch over to another and then paste. This also works for files that are in network shared directories.

New features include:

* Can auto-switch between master and slave roles allowing you to use any mouse/keyboard to control any system

* Can right-click on a file in Windows Explorer and choose to open it on any computer running Input Director

* Can bind a keyboard key (e.g. volume key) to a specific system regardless of which system is being directed

* Improved communications mode to better support unreliable Wireless networks

* Horizontal scrollwheel actions are now supported

* Can setup a hotkey to re-scan slaves

* Can set up a single hotkey (e.g. scrolllock) as a toggle to enable/disable screen-edge transitions

* Can shutdown just the slaves or the slaves and master from the right-click context-menu

* Clears the 'Shared Clipboard' if the system that owns that data is shutting down

* Increased the maximum monitors supported on a single system to 10

* Improved keyboard layout translation support

* Fixed bug which would block transitions from a Vista/Win7 master

* Fixed bug that blocked file copy/pastes from a Win7 master

* Fixed bug that could cause transitions to occur 1" from the monitor edge

* Various minor bug fixes and improvements

Marvellous
Input Director 1.2.2 works marvellous. Very easy to setup and the configuration is made graphically (just like the multimonitor configuration of Windows, by arranging the icons of the monitors&computers). I use it for a laptop with WindowsXP (master) and a desktop with Vista (slave). The clipboard works both for text/url and for filecopy operations in Explorer) Even the elevation (black screen) on Vista does not interrupt the use of the laptop mouse. This program is a must for everyone who works with more than one computer at a time.

Really an amazing tool Worked flawlessly. So much easier than having to use multiple keyboards and mice. Cleaned off my desk and am running multiple workstations from single mouse/keyboard.

Keep other keyboard/mice around as it doesn't seem to work within DOS windows and such; but seldom need that anyway.

Great tool and FREE; what a country!!!!!!!!!

One of the best proggies I've used. Does exactly what it's suppose to.
The only issue I have, sometimes, is not picking up a "slave" right away, or loading as a service at startup. However, that might be a configuration problem on my box.
I'd love to see a Windoze --> Linux addition.

FIne product

This product was simple to install and is simpler to use. It is great for using a laptop as a keyboard/mouse for a PC connected to a TV. You simply move the cursor to the TV screen and you are able to access the TV computer as well as if you had a keyboard directly attached.

This product also works for uses who have multiple PCs to handle at one workstation and have a monitor attached to each. You can use one keyboard/mouse and move seamlessly between the systems.
